Amazon seller accountants — see your real profit after FBA fees and VAT, not just your Seller Central payout

Your Amazon payout is not your profit. Between referral fees, FBA charges, refunds and VAT, the real number is buried in your settlement reports. We dig it out — so you know what you actually make per ASIN, and your VAT is always right.

  • Fixed monthly fee
  • A named accountant
  • UK-wide, fully online

Everything you need

One team, one fixed fee

  • Bookkeeping Services. Settlement reports reconciled properly — every fee, refund and reserve accounted for.

Sound familiar?

The bits no one warns you about

Amazon pays you a net disbursement every couple of weeks — after it has deducted referral fees, FBA fees, storage, advertising, refunds and reserves. By the time it hits your account, your real profit is impossible to see without unpicking the settlement data line by line.

That’s how sellers end up scaling a product that loses money, getting blindsided by a VAT bill, or never quite knowing whether a strong month was actually profitable. The numbers are all there in Seller Central — they’re just not in a form you can use.

  • Your Amazon payout is net of fees — it hides your true margin
  • Referral and FBA fees that change with size, weight and category
  • Refunds, reimbursements and reserves to untangle
  • VAT on UK and cross-border (EU OSS) marketplace sales
  • The Amazon VAT Calculation Service and what it does (and doesn’t) cover
  • Cost-of-goods and inventory that never tie back to the payout
How we help

Everything handled, under one roof

Selling on Amazon throws off more financial data than almost any other small business: fortnightly disbursements, thousands of fee lines, FBA charges, refunds, reimbursements and reserves — none of which a high-street accountant or a simple spreadsheet was built to handle.

We’re specialist Amazon accountants. We reconcile your settlement reports properly, track every referral and FBA fee, get your marketplace VAT right, and show you the profit you’re genuinely making — by product, not just the cash that lands in your bank.

Still deciding?

The honest answers to what you’re thinking

How much does an Amazon accountant cost?

We agree a fixed monthly fee based on your sales volume, number of marketplaces and VAT footprint. For most sellers it’s comfortably less than the margin we recover once the settlement data and VAT are actually right.

Why can’t my normal accountant handle Amazon?

They can do the year-end basics, but Amazon’s settlement reports, FBA fee structure, reimbursements and cross-border VAT have quirks general accountants routinely miss — and getting them wrong is exactly where sellers lose money.

Do I need to register for VAT to sell on Amazon?

Not until your taxable turnover passes £90,000 in a rolling 12-month period (some overseas sellers register sooner). Once you do, you charge UK VAT, can reclaim VAT on your Amazon fees and costs, and we handle the quarterly returns.

I sell on Amazon EU as well — can you handle that?

Yes. We deal with cross-border marketplace VAT, the EU OSS scheme and the rules around storing stock in EU fulfilment centres, so your international selling stays compliant.

FAQ

Amazon sellers (FBA): your questions answered

What does an Amazon accountant do?
We handle the accounting built around selling on Amazon: connecting Seller Central to cloud software, reconciling your fortnightly settlement disbursements, tracking referral and FBA fees, managing UK and EU marketplace VAT, filing your accounts and tax, and reporting your true profit by ASIN.
How much does an accountant cost for an Amazon FBA business?
It depends on your sales volume, the marketplaces you sell on and your VAT position. We quote a fixed monthly fee up front so there are no surprises as you scale — and it typically costs less than the profit we uncover by getting your fees and VAT right.
Is my Amazon payout the same as my profit?
No — and this trips up most sellers. Your disbursement is what’s left after Amazon deducts referral fees, FBA fees, storage, advertising, refunds and reserves. Your actual profit also has to account for your cost-of-goods and VAT. We reconcile the settlement reports so you see the real number. Our free Amazon FBA fee calculator gives you a quick per-unit estimate.
How does VAT work for Amazon sellers?
Once you’re VAT registered you charge 20% UK VAT on UK sales, can reclaim the VAT Amazon charges on its fees, and account for EU sales through the OSS scheme where relevant. The Amazon VAT Calculation Service can help but doesn’t replace proper returns — we handle the lot, MTD-compliant.
Can you reclaim the VAT Amazon charges on its fees?
If you’re VAT registered and Amazon charges UK VAT on your seller fees, yes — that input VAT is normally reclaimable on your return. We make sure it’s captured so you’re not leaving money with HMRC.
Can you take over from my current accountant?
Yes, and we manage the whole handover for you — most Amazon sellers are up and running with us within a couple of weeks.
